Barnabas School of Discipleship — Learning from Christ, Living with Christ, Serving Christ

Learning from Christ • Living with Christ • Serving Christ

Are you longing to know Jesus Christ more deeply? Do you desire to grow in prayer, understand His teachings, experience the work of the Holy Spirit and prepare yourself for Christian ministry and mission? The Barnabas School of Discipleship (BSD) is a unique opportunity to spend an intentional season learning to follow Jesus more closely. It is not primarily a conventional classroom or academic programme. It is a shared-life discipleship experience where a small group of 5–10 participants will pray, study, reflect, share meals, travel, converse and participate in ministry together.

Who Was Barnabas?

Barnabas was an important leader of the early Church. His name means “Son of Encouragement” (Acts 4:36). He was known for generosity, faith and his ability to encourage and strengthen others. Barnabas welcomed Saul (Paul) when others were hesitant to accept him (Acts 9:27), brought him to Antioch (Acts 11:22–26), and later served with him in missionary ministry (Acts 13:1–3). BSD seeks to reflect the spirit of Barnabas by encouraging, mentoring and equipping people for Christ and His mission.

Our Objectives

BSD seeks to help participants:

  1. Deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Understand and practise the teachings of Jesus.
  3. Grow in prayer, holiness and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
  4. Discover and strengthen their calling for Christian ministry and mission.
  5. Develop servant leadership, humility, compassion and sacrificial living.
  6. Reflect upon God’s purpose for their lives.

Our Emphasis

Christ-Centred Life • Biblical Discipleship • Prayer • Holy Spirit • Mission • Servant Leadership

A Personal Invitation

By the grace of God, He has used me to motivate, inspire and equip hundreds of people for Christian mission in different parts of the world for more than 40 years. With this experience and calling, I now invite you to come with an open heart and a willingness to learn. My desire through BSD is not simply to conduct another Bible course, but to share life with a small group of committed Christians and walk together in the journey of discipleship. As we study the teachings of Jesus, pray, share meals, travel, talk, reflect and participate in ministry, I hope each participant will discover more deeply what it means to follow Jesus, live according to His teachings, depend upon the Holy Spirit and serve His mission. You are warmly invited to come to my home, share life with us during this season, and allow God to speak to you, shape you and prepare you for His purpose.

COME • LEARN • PRAY • WALK • SERVE
